I was born and raised in Cambridge, Ontario where I attended both Chalmers Street and Stewart Avenue public schools. I enjoyed music very early with the help of a great kindergarten teacher - Mrs. Winkler. The sound of her pushing the piano down the hallway into the classrooms is a fond memory. I began singing and playing the piano around this time and my love of music only grew from there. My grandmother soon purchased my first keyboard from a yard sale and I was hooked! By the time I attended Glenview Park Secondary School I could play the trombone, guitar even a little mandolin and fiddle, but piano was always my first choice. In high school I won the music keyboarding award and both the Grade 12 & OAC music awards as top student.
After high school I attend Sir Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo where I received my bachelor of arts and quickly found myself in the Piano Technology program at the University of Western Ontario in London. It was here in London where I met my future wife who was in the Fine Arts program at Fanshaw College. The time I spent in the Piano Technology program was life changing. Great teachers and fantastic classmates and friends. After graduating in the 2001 I moved back to Cambridge and began working part time as a piano technician in the Faculty of Music at Sir Wilfrid Laurier University. I still live in Cambridge with my wife and son, and continue to work at Laurier and run my own piano tuning and repair business in Cambridge...I am now learning the banjo!
